At the end of a bandwidth test DSLreports shows a listing of (recent?)
speed tests performed by others claiming the same ISP as you (or being
detected as using the same ISP).

I'm looking at that list right now, and in the top spot is "reseaux @
Montreal-Est, QC, CAN" with up/down speed of 31.9m/998. The next is
"anon @ Quebec, QC, CAN" with 22.5m/397, and the same guy (reseaux @
Montreal-Est, QC, CAN) has several other results of about 17m/850.

While most of the top speeds are shown to belong to users in Quebec,
there are some in Etobicoke, Oakville, Peterborough and North York
showing about 10 mbps.

What service or technology (that Bell offers) is capable of DL speeds
of 10 to 30 mbps? And why are UL speeds capped at 1 mbps (a
ridiculous ratio given 15 to 30 mbps DL speed).

Well i've noticed with the exception of North York each and every one of
those cities is a shithole. None of this makes any sense but sympatico
never made any sense. These cities are for the downtrodden the down and
outers. These people can barely afford a phone line let alone dsl and
adsl2+ at 99 bones a month i think not. The whole idea is to supply adsl2+
to regions of wealth who are most likely to subscribe to it not the
regions that can't afford a square meal.

Just to clarify there is a very minuscule pocket of wealth in Oakville about one, one
hundredth of a percentage point of the population or about 50 houses in the entire city. I
surmise these are the only 50 who subscribe to adsl2+. The rest of the population couldn't
afford a subway token.

I suggest you move back to whatever city/town/village you came from in
Italy, or apply to get immigrant status into the country you admire so
much south of the border.

store to pay for my internet every month.

I should know better than to post to a group with so many monkeys...
